Southeast, East, Northeast Asia and the Pacific Parliamentarian and CSO Forum on MDG Acceleration and the Post 2015 Development Agenda

<p>Over 70 parliamentary and civil society representatives from 19 Asian countries will arrive in the Philippines for a two-day forum on accelerating the Millennium Development Goals &lpar;MDGs&rpar; and developing a Post-2015 Development Agenda&period; Hosted by the Philippine House of Representatives and the Philippine Legislators’ Committee on Population and Development &lpar;PLCPD&rpar;&comma; the <strong>Southeast&comma; East&comma; Northeast Asia and the Pacific Parliamentarian and CSO Forum on MDG Acceleration and the Post 2015 Development Agenda<&sol;strong> will be held at <strong>Crowne Plaza Manila Galleria on 20-21 November 2012<&sol;strong>&period;<&excl;--more--><&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The forum will be a platform for the region’s parliamentarians to be fully engaged in discourse on critical development issues such as inequalities&comma; sexual and reproductive health rights&comma; sustainable development&comma; and governance accountability&comma; making them an integral stakeholder both in developing a regional consensus on development priorities&comma; and on shaping a global development agenda that goes beyond 2015&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>A Manila Declaration of Parliamentarians on MDG Acceleration and the Post-2015 Development Agenda will be announced at the end of the 2-day event&period; <strong>A Press Conference will be held &nbsp&semi;on 21 November&comma; from 12 noon to 2&colon;00 PM<&sol;strong>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The Forum is organized by UN Millennium Campaign and Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development &lpar;AFPPD&rpar;&comma; with support of the Rockefeller Foundation&comma; in collaboration with the African Network of Parliamentarians on the MDGs&comma; BBC Media Action &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Climate Asia Project”&comma; Commonwealth Parliamentary Association UK &lpar;CPA UK&rpar;&comma; Global Call to Actions Against Poverty &lpar;GCAP&rpar;&comma; Inter-Parliamentary Union &lpar;IPU&rpar;&comma; LDC Watch&comma; Save the Children&comma; Joint United Nations Programme on HIV&sol;AIDS &lpar;UNAIDS&rpar;&comma; United Nations Development Programme &lpar;UNDP&rpar;&comma; United Nations Population Fund &lpar;UNFPA&rpar;&comma; United Nations Children’s Fund &lpar;UNICEF&rpar;&comma; United Nations Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights &lpar;UN OHCHR&rpar;&comma; and UN Women&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
